Multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter Elise Trouw shares the genuine story of how her favorite drummer, Stewart Copeland of The Police, influenced her drumming style throughout the years.

“My parents had a turntable and the first vinyl I got was Zenyatta Mondatta by The Police. I remember listening to the music and thinking that the drummer was always taking you for a turn— doing something I didn’t expect. Stewart’s drumming has this ‘randomness’ that somehow makes sense. So much of what I do today is inspired by him.”
