Back from a little R&R so what better way to return than to post my drum cover attempt at The Police’s Spirits In The Material World.

I love Stewart Copeland’s drumming when with The Police–so innovative and unique, it’s hard to replicate his style. But I try my best here.

This song is tough and so easy to get lost if you don’t keep the beat consistent in the verses as the bass drum is on the 2 & 4 while the accents on the hat are on the upbeat. So it’s damn tricky to play. Don’t even mention getting the snare drum to hit right when going into the chorus!

But it was fun despite the challenge and hope it comes off well here.
