TAMA STARPHONIC BRASS Snare w/ Triple Flange Hoop (3 different tunings)

Years ago, I swapped the hoop on this drum for a triple flange and I haven’t looked back. The shell is so throaty and full of tone, I felt like the triple flange would open up the top end just a bit and balance out the attack.

Here it is in 3 different tuning ranges. I loosely played in different styles, the highest tuning reminding me of Stewart Copeland, the medium of Alex Van Halen, and the lowest of your classic Nashville session sound. I thought it’d be more helpful to compare the tunings like this than to play the same groove as this gives the snare some context.
